Woodworking... my new hobby?
« on: July 24, 2016, 18:10:33 »
I've been quite busy, both at work, at home, and at other places helping friends. For the past few months I had been away doing a lot of cabinet work and other random home improvements for some friends trying to sell their house. I've also been busy with fixing and building things for our own home, such as a bed for my youngest girls and a dresser for our laundry room.

These were all projects that were worked on after my regular job and not at all within my usual realm of expertise done to try saving money and do some physical work in contrast to the mental work that I go through all the time during my day job. Of course it has meant that I haven't had the free-time to get back on this website like I used to.

When I've had some time to play on the computer, I've also enjoyed codingame.com, for some quick programming challenges. I had gotten away from it for a while too, but got back around to it just this week again to complete one of the community challenges.

For those who are looking for some inspiration for woodworking, I highly recommend ILikeToMakeStuff.com (for unique and interesting things, especially if you like electronic stuff too) and Ana-White.com (for beds and other common furniture).
"Hello IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again? ... OK, well, the button on the side. Is it glowing?... Yeah, you need to turn it on. Err, the button turns it on. Yeah, you do know how a button works, don't you? No, not on clothes." - Roy (The IT Crowd)
