Netgear Powerline Network Kit

My brother just bought a Netgear Powerline Network Kit based on the recommendation of a sales rep at Best Buy. Supposedly, it is usable in place of a wireless router. It gets plugged into the wall and runs your internet connection through your electrical lines in your house. Here's what he said about it.

"[T]he wireless thing I bought is a POS. It is really easy to hook up, but when I tried to play online I got kicked off about six times without even being able to start an actual game. It's a Netgear Powerline Network Kit XE102G. 14 MBPS..."
