Title: Christmas Present
Post by: TylerChuit on November 11, 2010, 17:41:00
Since I am poor this year, and most of my friends are gamers, I am looking to make/sculpt something board game related that can be molded/reproduced to give as Christmas presents to all my gamer friends.

Problem is, I am at a loss idea-wise.  Any suggestions considering that you guys comprise a large percentage of said friends?

Hmmm... Here's an idea.... not sure how well it fits with what you want to do... and maybe this is just because of my interest in Robo Rally and seeing your work with the robots from Red Rocket Farm, but what about some custom bots fit to play on a Robo Rally board? Maybe that could be something that could translate into a product that could be sold at RRF also.

That could be cool.  I've also put a thread up on BGG here:

to get a different perspective of suggestions from more hard-core gamers.

Chris, I would like to get you a present.
Do you have a wish list at fun again games?
Would you prefer a gift card for Walmart? You could get groceries, gas, ..... ?
Maybe one for Home Depot so you could buy supplies for building stuff?

I'm serious, what would you like.

-I'm glad to see that you spell it "CHRISTmas"!!!  I'm a Christian, and am thankful to God for His only begotten Son, Christ Jesus, who paid in full, for ALL of our sins, sickness & weakness.  Christ Jesus is the Ultimate gift, so ultimate, it took GOD to give, and is truly "One size fits all", and will NEVER need to be returned, just shared---being the gift that keeps on giving!!! Merry Christmas to Everyone!!!

Well...  a Wallmart card would be put to very good use at this point, thank you very much.   Sorry for not replying sooner.  I missed your generous offer until churchy decided to spread his religion around like an incontinent seagul plastering unwary beach-goers.

I'mn still working on the presents for you guys.  I've had several ideas, but most of them end up getting complicated.  I might end up making different things for you.  We'll have to see.  Might also be a little late, but hopefully worth the wait.

I'm coming through Atlanta Saturday on my way to Chicago.
I'd like to make a delivery and keep on truck'n, if you know what I mean. Maybe we can meet by an interstate gas station.
On the way back, Monday night, 12/27, or maybe Tuesday morn, I could pick up gifts to distribute. Save you having to ship them.
I'll try to call you Friday around 3:00pm. If your busy, no worries. I'll leave a message and try calling before I head back down the week after.

Well, it's early Christmas morning.  Since I was still up, I went ahead and opened my presents fom you guys.  I'm still a bit teary.  I was very touched that you guys sent or alternately hand delivered presents.

Thank you, Nathaniel, for the Dominion expansion.  It's my first new game since I moved to Atlanta, and I look forward to playing it as soon and as often as possible.

Thanks to you as well, Mac.  I personally think that cash is underestimated in terms of thoughtfulness, as it the thing I'm currently the most in need of.

I'm rushing to try and get my gifts done for Mac to bring them back to you guys, but I may not be able to complete all of them in time.

I spoke to Chris before returning from Chicago through Atlanta.
He wasn't able to hand off any return presents for me to bring back.
So, don't come banging on my door, I don't have them.

Seriously.

 :D

Merry Christmas guys, belated even.

I've finally finished all the stuff that needs to be printed.  I'll be printing, cutting out and mounting all of that this weekend.  Hopefully, I can sent them out Monday or Tuesday...

It's a game, by the way.
