Since Jason has been having some problems in his life, Cradle Me, Sky has been slow in the works.
Until the next update, I want to show you a little something I have started working on. My experience with working on Jason's cartoon has given me some of the training I need to start realizing my own dream.
This is very rough, but I'm happy with the results given how fast I threw it together.

That's cool!!!

Cool! Thanks for sharing that.

thats pretty cool how long did it takes to do that
-
Thanks for the kind words.
It took about an hour to shape and photograph the individual parts. About three hours to color and edit the photos, then compile them into After Effects. I had to figure out how to control the animation for the eye movement, so another hour or so to actually animate it.
This was mainly a test to see if it was feasable, and to give me a taste of how it might look. I know an actual story will be way more complicated.

That's very cool. I knew it had to be a tedious process.

a bit to do for tha short n sweet clip then

My idea is that I could sculpt the figures in parts and set them up on a turntable. I'd photograph them from a bunch of different angles in the various poses and compile them in Photoshop. Then, I'd animate it the same way as a regular cartoon. It's not really claymation at that point, but it might end up being faster and less costly given my limited resources and work space.

So the idea would be to have reusable photos, right?

Since the bodies would be in pieces, the plan is to be able to mix and match. Not sure if it will be successful. That was another part of the test; to see if the pieces would blend well, or make the figure look like a South Park Canadian.
