Title: Cool board game customizations
Post by: Dragon on August 15, 2020, 11:21:04
Inspired by Chris' (Tylerchuit) use of old POGs to indicate cities in Power Grid that were not in use for a game, yesterday I printed some cloud shaped tokens to use for my own set. I found these on Thingiverse as lids for a physical "Cloud Storage". I saw a few different things on that site, but settled on printing the 2nd lid in the set from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3243995. I tried resizing it to 40mm, 30mm, and 30mm only 1mm high. I think resizing it to 30mm wide, leaving the height alone, made it the best. I'll include a photo with this post.

Also, while I was looking around, I came across a site that had a really cool custom centerpiece for Puerto Rico, styled like a shipping port. I'll include a photo of that here too, but suggest checking out more at https://www.boardgamesenhanced.com/blog/2015/12/16/3d-puerto-rico-board-game-seaport.

Stone Age

If you're looking for 3d printable things to enhance your Stone Age boardgame, here are a couple suggestions that I've tried myself. First, my most recent addition to my game collection:

I've been looking for a nice alternative for the cardboard chieftain, which constantly falls apart. Printed using "silver" filament, this turned out like a great replacement.

Stone Age

The second set of 3d printable things that I recommend for Stone Age are the these, which I printed before, all white, but added color to the edge of each to match the resources they were intended for:

Just to keep the table organized, this set of bowls turned out nicely.
