-The Nikko Thor is a nice piece, I had the Black one of that same line.  I've never seen Radio Shack packaging like your Fox, at first I was wondering what Co. that was, (I've never seen a RS Fox either, very interesting---looks like the same basic setup as the Golden Arrow).  The Nikko Brat is the 7.2V, that's nice, it opens up so many more motor & battery pk. possibilities, nice collection, been at it very long?

Yes the thor is one of my favorites of the collection, the Fox is actually the same exact car as the Red Arrow, but sports the same tires as the Black Wolf. I love collecting these cars because you just cant buy them like these anymore. I try to only collect new or almost new and they have to be in original boxes.

-the Nikko/RS/Digitcon 1/10th's are nice for modding w/hobby radio gear.  It surprises me that there isn't an aftermarket for them, especially w/how many share the same platform.  Now there's no more Nikko in the US, so that means no more of the good RS in the US, & Digitcon has been gone for quite a few years.

Ive got that exact nikko thor new in box except mine has the black blower. You can run it with an 8.4v no problem im half tempted to try the 9.6v because the 8.4v alone really wakes the truck up.

-The Thor runs OK, but has the electronic torque splitter, (which means the wired the motors, so that the one needing power, doesn't get it---like the stock Clodbuster's "power/economy" switch).  I've never tried to reverse the wiring, I think the radio's sticks would need reversed too, but then those lik 380's should have much more pep.  If anybody tries this, I'm not sure is it'd blow up the stk elects., but really, new "hobby guts" would be the next step anyhow.  Also, unplugging the lights could help in the umph department.

-Also, if you remove the front bumper, you need a brace to hold the frt. gbx halves together, destroyed a gearcase on a nose-heavy jump.  Also, the upper A-arm hits the front motor, (maybe not the Thor's 380, but definately the RR's 540.  the Arm won't let that side compress nearly as far as the opposite, trim the arm, or replace it w/links & prob.'s solved.  BTW, Sprfstrxx rear chrome wheels are wrong, Tyco got cheap & only made 1 mold/direction ::)

I love that Nikko truck chassis. I have both versions, the dual 380's  4x4 and the 2wd with the one 540. The 2wd is just as much fun as my king black foot. (The dual 380 is a little weak and needs some help)

But I also love the Nikko Buggy chassis with the 7.2 and 540. I have a radio shack Sagitta I bought as a kid (saved up for months to buy it) Had a pair of em, destroyed them then rebuilt one a few years ago (needed a new servo and electronics). I drove it so much the front wheel bushing had enough slop to tilt the wheels side to side.

I also have a pair of those brats (but radio shack version).

Nice collection addition!

i had a radio shack version of that brat also, but mine was called the blue shark, they had a couple different radio shack versions of that brat all pretty much the same car with different stickers, was one of my first really fast r/c cars. got it around christmas 91 or 2 ish i cant remember exactly, but was really hoping for a black fast traxx truck or radio shack version but at that time radio shack didnt have their version anymore and from what my mom says, it was just before christmas when she actually got me the blue shark and wal marts shelves were pretty bare, in any case soon as i plugged the battery pack in i pretty much forgot about ever wanting any other r/c had it about a year, went thrue 2 bodies one dif and about a week after getting the new dif replace by the shack, the esc went bad

I noticed with my radio shack vertions of the Brat, the older ones have hi/low gears, while the newer vertion only has hi range. Kinda of a shame, I like low gear for going through grass and off road stuff. Hi gear is only good for pavement.
