Title: Taiyo Jet Hopper Turbo Restoration with Pics
Post by: morgrp on April 17, 2011, 20:06:57
Had a punt on a dead Jet Hopper on ebay and got it for £5 (about 7bucks )
Had no box and no Controller, was non functioning and had a faulty steering servo.

I have since completely stripped and rebuilt and apart from a missing spot light I think it looks super.  Performs and drives superbly.

Was going to sell it but now I'm not so sure - To sell or not to sell????

Here are some pics of the restoration.
enjoy!

Nice hopper man.
I wish I could find a deal like that. Non working hoppers seem to go for $30-50 in the states.

I know they seem to be less popular in the UK - I'm trying to get my hands on another non-worker at the moment - a Black 40mhz version

A joy to work on though - especially when comapred with the Nikko Frame Buggy i'm currently restoring

Saw your post in my thread about the Porsche.  How did you go about fixing the servo?  Mine looks identical to yours.

THanks

Funnily enough I've just got myself another jet hopper turbo which needs restoring so I will strip the servo, picture the process and post it for you

It's bank holiday (labour day) over in the uk this weekend so won't be working on it for a few days do won't be doing it straight away
