Title: finding good stuff on craigslist
Post by: friedchickenfuelsme on September 22, 2011, 11:19:28
http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/tag/2610657713.html    called the guy and hoping to go pick this up. it helps that he doesn't have it listed with normal key words that people use to find rc cars like "rc". So if i do end up getting it then craigslist will be my main source of tycos. scorcher 9.6v miny typhoon II and then if i got this i would be in tyco heaven.

He called me in the pouring rain while when I was half way there and told me he just sold it while he said he would be at work. I told him I live about an hour away but have a friend about ten minutes away so would hang out with her til he got home at 2. Somehow he sold it while at work? He called me at noon...

live by the sword, die by the sword. i work only 1 day a week so usually i hve the jump on good items but this time the item was an hour away and i could have either left during rush hour in one of the worst traffic areas in the country and then risked getting there too late anyway or wait til the next day which i did but be beaten to it by someone else. Tyco's pop up all of the time. all it takes is for some parent of a 27 year old to be cleaning out the attic or storage and slap a beauty on the net for next to nothing. I'm just glad most don't have the sense to do research on some of the stuff they're listing. oh well on with the search and when one pops up at a good time of day close to me I'll snap it up so quickly it would have caught the crock hunter off guard!

since he sold it anyway i thought i would e-mail him and let him know that he had one of the rarest tycos which was worth much much much more than he was asking so anyone see a half traxx on ebay around the virginia area that's someone making an obsene amount of money off of that guy.

a silver one sold a few weeks ago on ebay, it went up and ended right away, someone got to the seller before the auction ended normally thats me, but i was busy, i have the green one without a remote, but can control it with another. but i really like the silver better, the half traxx is a tad slower then the fast traxx, but a nicer one would probably be just as quick, mines a little beat up.

yea that was that one with the broken tread that was up for 100.00 i think, i have both the silver and green, both in really good condition, but the green dosent have the remote, a pic of my green one is on here, never did the silver one yet, what kind of remote powers your green one? i have one that just makes it go forward and reverse but not turn.

i was watching that wild cougar, it went for like 10.50 or something. i was going to bid on it but it was too dirty for my wife to let me bid on it. I had that when i was younger and loved it but being in middle school i had no idea how to solder and my dad is a workoholic so he couldn't help but all it needed was a motor wire soldered back so so i threw it away : (  my brothers friend gave it to me and i remember mostly flying in reverse hitting forward wheeling then doing 360 wheelies. how does that thing run?? i couldn't trouble you to make a video of it could i?

Damn friedchick,,,sorry to hear that man i guess he's one of those people that can be in two places at once lol,,,and yeah i saw that beat one with the broken tread sell the other day on ebay,,hell it was on for like an hour lol,,my eyeballs pooped out my head when i saw mine in the box,, i couldnt get the cash out my hand fast enough because it was one i always wanted as a kid,,but hell i never even saw one in the stores when i was young,, because i would have pulled my first strong arm robbery at age 10 if the folks wouldnt have bought it lol ,ill post some pics up in a bit

yea i was pretty dirty but cleaned up nice besides the wheels being white they kinda had dirt stains, but it came out nice, im going to have my buddy look at the remote, it has the same motors as the nikkos, just the rame is over all built kinda diff, i like driving the nikko traxx ones better, and some have reg remotes with a fwd, bwk, and left and right steering, and is more fun than the tank steering remotes, ill try and post a pic of it then

cool. i'm sure it's nothing big maybe just a little part that makes contact i guess a circuit. my brother is a scientist and builds circuit boards on rockets so he said rc car boards are easy so he's going to teach me how to rebuild them too which will be nice so if i find a car that doesn't work i could always rebuild or repair the  board and make it live again.

there for the longest time i was looking on ebay for the wild cougar. never could find one nor could find anything on yahoo searches about it. then i saw that one on ebay but was too beat up for my wife to okay it plus wasn't tested. i stil remember the day my brother's friend gave me his. it was in mind condition since he was a gamer not an rc driver but i put some use on it especially since at that time i had 6 9.6v packs and 6 chargers so i used to run that thing for hours. why couldn't i have had handy parents who could solder. the paperclip wedged in with a rubber band only can work for so long...

Yeah i love it,,,i wanted one so bad 20 yrs ago lol,,,my mom owned a day care back then so we would go to all the toy stores alot to get baby toys and you would just never see them only in the adds,,and tyco's tricky underside of the box spread with all the pics lol,, this one's only been out twice,, i wish your controls wernt messed up,, its pretty fun this one will pull wheelies on the carpet from a stand still on a full charge lol

they said they may ship depending on how much it costs. yeah i'm interested in the buggy too but i'll see what they want for it and shipping and stuff.
Title: Re: finding good stuff on craigslist
Post by: friedchickenfuelsme on September 26, 2011, 14:20:24
i talked to his wife, they want 200 and she said her husband may ship. I'm trying to see if she will split the group and just sell me the mini blaster. 200 to me doesn't sound too bad but tack another 50 on for shipping plus the risk that they may just take the money and never send the stuff i dunno if my wife will go for that. i'm trying to convince her to put them on ebay with a buy it now 200, so then there is some form of official contract between us.

Yeah id feel much more comfortable going through eBay to,,,the mini blaster would be the only one id be interested in to since i have a new hammer and a new lambo,,,i just love having the mini's to go with the bigs lol,,so they want $200 for all ???,,,,that's not bad i figure the lambo is worth a 100  and so is the hammer,,,and no no no lol,,Czstycor/c i deff ain't selling the silver traxx it took forever to find one mint in the box lol,,,I'm a nice guy though id send it to ya for Xmas to have a lil fun with it for a while though idk maybe in the future we could work something out with a 4wd Nissan since that's the only major one i want that I'm missing, that and the jet stream.
