This thing will pop a wheelie in high and low gear it hAS A built in wheelie bar also. It is pretty fast too.
-
i was looking at the truck closer and it has a way bigger motor than my other tycos. guess that explains all the torque it has, it will go through grass in high gear.

Very cool. How much do you want for it?
-
So what all does the Hammer have in common with the other hoppers and Bandits? Same chassis and axle? I'm guessing it's geared lower for the larger tires?
-
Can we see it "naked"??
It would be nice to have some pics close up of the motor and rear axle too.
thanks
-
It has nothing in common with Bandits or any of the other cars. It is entirely different. It has a huge rear end with a big motor. Its suspension is real bouncy, the rear wheels are screwed on, so you can remove them. It has a built in wheelie bar/ wheel on the back and will ride a wheelie until you let off the gas. The steering thing is not a bar on the bottom , but a knob that you turn like a newer digital car has on the transmitter. You can put hobby tires on the wheels also, so you can always rerplace the tires. I have a nikko thor 4 wheel drive, so i really don't need this one. As for price I was just taking offers.
-
Just how "big" is the motor? It's cant be 540 size can it?
-
It is the same size around the outside as a half dollar.
-
thanks for the description.
Still would be nice to have a look a better pics of the rear end and possibly of the remote control.
how big is an half dollar then?

Wow, I've never seen another Turbo Hammer, I bought mine brand new in 1992/93 from Consumers in eastern Canada, long since gone bankrupt. I added some pics of mine, I also have the original box which boasts it's turbo power! Actually I think this model is the Canadian version, there was a black colored Turbo Hammer as well with green print, perhaps the U.S. version? Can anyone clarify this? Let me tell you this is a very powerful machine, you can easily bruise yourself or someone else very badly if you hit their ankles at full speed. ;D

Both were available in the US. The Yellow one is 27mhz and the Black one is 49 mhz.
-
Nice truck!!
I need 9.6v turbo controller 49 mhz for my hammer!!!
do you have one or know of anyone who may have one???
-
Do you still have the hammer? Would you take 50 bucks for it if you do?
-
i got a Hammer brand new in the box bought in 1994 paid 117.00 on sale.
the yellow one was the 27 mhz version and the black one was the 49 mhz version
so that 2 hammers could run together without interfering with each others radio signal
i bought my first one at toys are us in 1993 and put it through hell and it still ran, even sealed the radio up in plastic and ran it through mud holes and jumping it off the roof of my house
it finally starting sticking in the steering so i took it back and got a new one and put it on the shelf and its still there
i remember spraying it off and mud was dripping out of it when i returned it and the next week i seen it on the shelf at toys R us dripping mud in the box !!!! ::)
i am a crazy dude lol !!!!!

pretty old thread, but....since you re vived it, ill say back in the early 90s i did that to alot of tycos, for 2-3 years in a role id get one good tyco for christmas, when it got to scratched or muddy and broken like you say, id take it back, then id get one of the other tycos and try it out.
i had about 8 different rebounds one year. the jack knife car which was the 6.v version of the hi jacker. never had the hammer tho
