Need help getting name of R/C truck from childhood
« on: July 19, 2010, 11:47:54 »
Ok I'm hoping someone on here can remember this truck as it's killing me I can't remember what it's called...

All I know is that it was a fairly large RC truck, at least a foot long and probably as tall; it's significant feature was that via the remote, you could raise and lower the truck; the 2 halves of the chassis met in the middle of the underside of the truck body and could either lay flat giving the truck a lower profile, or raise up into a V shape raising the body up higher.  The wheels were also cone shaped so that when you rose it up it would still contact the ground and get traction.

I've been scouring google and ebay trying to ID this truck with no luck today, I wish could remember it's name.  I'm not 100% sure it's Tyco but pretty sure.  This would've been made in the early to mid 90s.

My guess is that you're asking about the Tyco Mutator.

Nope, thats too small.  This truck was primarily black with (i believe) blue and purple stickers on it.

I've got some Tyco catalogs that I'll try to flip through this evening. Any other details about the truck that you can remember?

I added the video. If you want instructions on that, I've posted them here.

I'm with friedchicken on this one, that's the only RC I've seen with conical tires like that.  I guess they also made a Super Hercules, could be either one.
