Rules Clarification
« on: October 15, 2020, 20:54:31 »
This Conquest online game is based on Conquest Of The Empire, the board game published by MB in 1984. In 2005, around the time that I was originally putting this online version together, Eagle Games released their version of COTE. The rules for this online game are mostly based on the 1984 rules, with a couple different variations as options during setup for the combat system, along with options to use the straits as they were given in the 2005 rules.

Since there may be some situations where the rules aren't understood, or you think there may be a bug in the system, we can discuss it here. Movements regarding ships seem to be the most misunderstood.

For example, an empty ship is able to move it without a General, but it can't move Combat Units without a General.

Also, a ship is able to block another ships movement even if there aren't Combat Units on board.

A Combat Unit (I.E. Infantry, Cavalry, and Artillery) are able to stay in a City and can defend it during the Battle Phase. A Combat Unit cannot stay in a territory without a General or a City. (If you leave the troops behind, they will be considered AWOL and removed from the game.)
"Hello IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again? ... OK, well, the button on the side. Is it glowing?... Yeah, you need to turn it on. Err, the button turns it on. Yeah, you do know how a button works, don't you? No, not on clothes." - Roy (The IT Crowd)
