New Circus Maximus

(1/1)

Dragon:
I saw on Funagain Games that there was a new Circus Maximus game on their Pre-Order List. My first thought was, 'Wow! That could be cool if they tweaked the rules to that game!'

Then I checked the details... It's not the same game. It doesn't look bad though. The new game has been described as "scalper management" and apparently it was going to be called Scalpus Maximus, but for some reason they decided to take the name of a game that already exists instead.

Game play is approximately an hour for 3 to 5 players, so it could be a good one for my gaming groups, especially since gaming events are so irregular right now. I'll have to see how reviews from Essen 2008 tout it.

Dragon:
I never got the game, but I did come across another site that mentioned it:

In addition to being the center of an Empire, ancient Rome was also the entertainment capitol of the western world. Where else could you see chariot races, gladiatorial competitions, large-scale battle re-enactments, or mix and mingle at Caesar?s villa? If only you could get tickets?
