I've decided to put in one last entry for the month. I've been quite busy on my vacation, although most of it has been spent rearranging the house and cleaning up.

I also spent several hours last night trying to configure jGrasp to work with C++. I've got jGrasp to compile and run the program I wrote, but there are a few things keeping it from being a perfect choice for me for building programs. (Warning! Tech-babble coming up.) For some reason the conio.h file is not being found. Since I'm using getch() to pause the program at a few points, this is disappointing for me. Also jGrasp is not understanding the system("cls") command. (Anyone with some insight on this please send me a message.)

Beth's mom was approved through FCS to watch children in our home, basically as a nanny or baby-sitter. Beth and I were able to get out of the house alone for the first time in months. We went to a great Torah Study and had a good time out.

I couldn't sleep well… maybe it's because I'm excited about getting out to visit family and friends. We'll be going to Brandon today for a while since I'm on vacation. I haven't been able to visit my family there in quite a while since my current schedule makes it quite difficult to get out of the house other than for work.

I have a computer to give to Rick thanks to Dave having an old computer that he didn't need. I've gone through the computer to check some things out. I still need to check on the CD-ROM drive, but I doubt that it would get much use anyway, so it's not really a big concern for me. Rick mostly used his computer for email. This one is a little faster, so Juno should run smoother on it, but Rick isn't really interested in much else being on there.

We started playing Settlers of Catan for the first time in months. At least I can't remember the last time we played. We're teaching Beth's mom how to play, but she doesn't like the "Robber" element of the game, so she hasn't yet used it to steal any cards from either Beth or me. She says it's not "Christian-like" so she doesn't want to do it. Unfortunately, it took us so long to get started last night that we all went to bed after midnight and still didn't get the game finished. A lot of it was probably due to joking around, but Beth had a craving to make cake so that slowed the game down a bit.

I borrowed Rise of Nations from Mike at work so I could play it on my vacation. So far I haven't had time to play much, so I'm still in the first campaign, but I'm doing well. The default mode in my opinion is really too easy for anyone who's played RTS games before, but I still want to get through one campaign before bumping up the difficulty level.

Well… it's getting light out and I'm getting hungry, so time for me to wrap this up and find some breakfast.
