Yesterday after a quick stop at the courthouse, which turned out to be disappointing and aggravating due to some incomplete paperwork and a few statements from someone who didn’t have any business getting involved, we needed a break. When I got home I was pacing around the house in a rage until I finally sat down at the computer to play a game and get my mind off the situation. Beth asked if I’d be interested in going to visit someone and, although I know he’s a busy man, our Rabbi is the only friend I have that I thought might be available to get together.
After talking to Rabbi Sivan on the phone we got the babies ready to go and gathered a few items for our visit. We had to put some air in the back tires on the car before heading out since it felt like we were sliding when we turned corners.
Once we got to Rabbi’s we met Rivkah at the door, chatted for a few minutes, and then went out for a nice lunch. We got several comments at the restaurant about the babies and how cute they looked, along with a few “Oh my gosh!” comments from people passing by as they noticed the mess that our little Scooter had made. She was stuffing her face almost non-stop since we got in there and in the process there were several little bits of food on the floor.
Rabbi and I spent some time talking together after leaving the restaurant while we went out for a little grocery shopping and the girls went back to the house with the babies. I really needed to get some things off my chest and sometimes it seems like my wife doesn’t understand what I’m going through. After shopping we went back to Rabbi’s house and talked some more about various things before I was almost dead tired and Beth was ready to take us home.
