Tuesday 2/24/2004 08:45 – Sinking Feeling

I got news last night that Tampa’s badboy DJ Bubba the Love Sponge Clem was fired on Monday. I’m curious to find out if this guy is going to have any career in radio after the controversial things that he did and said while he was on 98 Rock. On occasion I would listen to the broadcasts but many times Bubba’s discussions would get going in a direction that I was not interested in listening too. Today when I drove home I listened to the radio to see what would be on in place of Bubba’s morning show only to find a “non-stop block” of music rather than any talk show host.

As I pulled into my parking place (next to the driveway) I felt a bit of a thump as if one of the tires of my truck had gone into a little hole. After I parked I walked back toward the road and noticed a little dip in the grass. I stepped down on it and my foot went through the grass and into the dirt about a foot or more. I wondered if we have a sinkhole so I asked Beth who we need to call and she contacted our insurance company.

After that Beth started making breakfast/dinner for me – fish and corn. It was nice to have a home cooked meal again since I’ve really gotten sick of fast food recently. Now that I’m all fattened up it’s time for me to get to bed.

Monday 2/23/2004 19:30 – Independence

Our daughter has recently wanted to be more independent. She was playing with an extra computer keyboard a few days ago and I sat down next to her and tapped on a few keys along with her. After a few seconds she reached over, grabbed my finger, and pushed me away from the keyboard before going back to tapping on the keyboard herself. Yesterday she did the same thing as she played on her piano/xylophone and I tried to play with her. It’s so neat to see her trying to be independent. I’m sure eventually it’s going to become a real pain though. Hopefully we have lots more time with the cute independence though.

I hope that some day I’ll be able to be independent from jobs that don’t go where I want to go. Of course, that’s why I’m studying programming and web design – to hopefully move into a career path that gives me more choices. Speaking of which, I was busy all last week between Java homework and putting together a database for my rabbi’s website. From morning to night each day I was busy. I sure didn’t have much of a break even though I only worked two days.
