Ok, So I’ve got the Beastie Boys going in my head right now, hence the title, but really I was up all night working on my homework.

My grandparents are spending some time at my parents place this week and I wanted to get over and visit them. Beth and the kids had already been over there this week while I was working. The kids have been quite sick since then so Beth wanted me to go alone. Yesterday evening I went over and had dinner with them all and afterward I played Cathedral twice against my grandfather. He did beat me in one round (each game is two rounds), but I had an obvious advantage since I’ve played the game quite a bit more than my grandfather has and I still won that game. (He has played it against my Uncle Sheldon though, so it’s not entirely new to him.)

After getting home from my visit at my parents house I started studying. Since the weekend is wrapping up, I was trying to have everything finished before Shabbat. I did get Chapter 10 finished and I started on Chapter 11, but I got too tired to continue by about 11:00 this morning so I went to bed. Although I wish that I had been able to stay awake to finish reading Chapter 11 I’m still happy with what I got finished.

Yesterday while I was studying I put on the Primus “Animals Should Not Try To Act Like People” DVD. Beth and the kids sat and watched some with me. It was a little bit of a distraction from my homework but I still finished my required reading.

I was in a rush to get to work last night because I had a couple things to gather up before I left the house. Unfortunately I forgot my schoolbook. Thankfully when I called home my wife was able to help me out by scanning in the last pages of the chapter and sending them to me so that I could work on my assignment. She really saved the day. I’m so thankful for everything that she does for me.

Last week my friend Keith bought a plane ticket for me to visit him. I’m looking forward to spending some time with him, especially since we haven’t had a week together in about 10 years. Keith also bought tickets for a Metallica concert and I’m sure we’ll have a good time hanging out together. Quite a bit has changed in my life though since then. I wonder how my old friends with react to my new lifestyle.
