New Tyco-powered design in the works
« on: March 11, 2015, 00:18:06 »
I know it's been forever since I've done any real work on this website. I think I'm finally motivated again to do some updates to the site, but it's sooooo far from even being close to what I'm used to working on. A lot of what I'm trying to do at first is rebuild broken links that are scattered around the website. Back when I first built Dragon's Hobbies, nearly 15 years ago, I was just trying things out. Random ideas and test code were thrown into things, mostly just to see what would work in the code. It has been a great learning experience for me to play around with in the past, but because of the way things were made back then, a lot about this site is NOT AT ALL how I would want to do it again if I created it from scratch. That being said... I actually don't want to recreate the site from scratch, I just want to make some improvements, putting things back how they were intended originally, such as my art page, and making the site more functional as a whole. Anyway, I hope that the people who have come here for other Tyco Bandit stuff will appreciate the changes that I have in mind, as I plan make more of a focus on the vintage Tyco R/C vehicles and custom vehicles that you guys have bought and built. Attached is a screenshot that I put together as a mockup for the home page.  I do also plan to get the TycoWiki working on here fully this year too.
"Hello IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again? ... OK, well, the button on the side. Is it glowing?... Yeah, you need to turn it on. Err, the button turns it on. Yeah, you do know how a button works, don't you? No, not on clothes." - Roy (The IT Crowd)
