Email to Txt
« on: June 04, 2020, 19:23:50 »
Want to have messages go to your phone as a text message? Try your number as an email address. If you're using this website to play Conquest Online or simply want to stay updated with the latest reminders from the forum, plugging your phone number+carrier domain into the email address field might be all you need.

Thanks to howstuffworks.com, here's a list of addresses to tack onto your number to form your email address.

Quote
Here are the domain names of some of the more popular carriers:

AT&T: @txt.att.net
Metro PCS: @mymetropcs.com
Nextel: @messaging.nextel.com
Sprint: @messaging.sprintpcs.com
T-mobile: @tmomail.net
U.S. Cellular: @email.uscc.net
Verizon: @vtext.com
Virgin Mobile: @vtext.com
Remember that these domains only work for text messages. If you want to send pictures, video, or audio, you'll need to skip the SMS address and use the MMS (multimedia messaging service) address instead.

There are a few other links in that article that may be helpful too, such as
https://www.carrierlookup.com, which can help you find a carrier based on a number.

Update for Metro PCS numbers, since they've merged with T-Mobile, use @tomomail.net or @mymetropcs.com. Both of those are working now instead of @metropcs.sms.us.

It's been a while, but unfortunately this update for Email to Txt is to say that AT&T is disabling that function.

From their article, "Say goodbye to email-to-text and text-to-email" on https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1061254, "Starting June 17, 2025, you won’t be able to send or receive texts using email."
