Vintage 1979 Taiyo Kogyo R/C Corvette
by just_chilin on 2012-03-07 22:26:30 UTC
Hey everyone, just picked this up today on my swapmeet rounds. I thought it was interesting because it was made by Taiyo in 1979. I didnt know they were that old. Just wanted to see if anyone had seen one like this before. I havent tested it, since it didnt come with a remote. I put some batteries in, it didnt do anything, so I assume it needs the remote to even move a little. Anyways, it was really cheap and I just had to rescue it from that table with mounds of used and broken toys! :-) Comments welcomed. Thanks!!

NICE!!! Its sooo 70's! Do you have the OG remote for it? Mine doesnt have a frequency stamp on it, so not sure which to try and use. Ive tried an older Tyco 49 and new Tyco 49 so far and nothing. It might just be busted, but it looks cool. Thanks for the picture, wish I would have found that shag-mobile too!!

Ha! NICE!!! Thats one sweet porsche. That remote is very interesting. Well, I dont think I will have any luck finding a control for it, and that battery cover is cool too, mine is missing that too. I guess mine will just have to be a shelf beauty. Thanks!
