I had a Twin Turbo Lamborghini, but nothing else to compare it to at the time. It seemed really fast, but no good for off-road at all, unlike most other popular Tyco RC vehicles.

I saw a Lambo going pretty cheap on eBay a few months ago, but most of them are selling pretty high.

I think that the indy car, I forgot what the name of it is, is pretty fast. It was twin turbo 9.6v with pistol grip controller. I actually have one but not sure where it's at. I think that the Super Fast Traxx is fast too.

the twin turbo aero hopper is the fastest of the 9.6v tycos. it is suuper light and has the same set up of the lambos. i dont know about the super fast traxx it is a 7.2v so it shouldnt count. i have a lambo, a bandit, a regular hopper and a fast traxx. also have a twin tujrbo aero hopper. it is the fastest of all those.

Here are some top speeds of Tycos that I have personally recorded for reference:

Tyco 9.6v Turbo Bandit - 12MPH

Tyco 9.6v Heads Up Turbo Hopper - 12MPH

Tyco 9.6v Wild Thing - 12MPH

Tyco 9.6v Turbo Hi-Jacker - 15MPH

Tyco 9.6v Twin Turbo Lamborghini - 16MPH

That's cool seeing some actual numbers to compare.

ye nice to see whats the diif between them would of been good if tyco had done a chart of there cars

My guess is  a twin turbo Indy car like the 9.6V Marlbro, as they were the lightest TT car.

you can always do like high school science students.  Mark out a given distance in feet and time how long it takes to go from one point to the other in seconds, then convert feet per second to miles per hour

There are free ones on the net:
http://www.calculateme.com/Speed/FeetperSecond/ToMilesperHour.htm

You do more than one run and take the average of them all.

I'll do some for my scorcher and post the result as soon as I have the time.

thanks if i have time i will, i've always just been curious of the speed.

by mayfew on 2010-07-12 01:00:25 UTC

I measured out 40 feet and 80 feet.  Then clocked the time for each, after six runs for  a total of 12 times.  Divided each time by the respective number of feet then I took the average and got about 18.05 feet per second, which is about 12 miles per hour

Tyco 9.6v Scorcher - 12MPH
