Legend Of Zelda - Peace Returns To Hyrule

Over the weekend I completed the original Legend Of Zelda (NES). I've been working my way through the game for a couple months. It's a game that I'd played a lot when I was a kid, but never beat it then. I had also played Zelda II: The Adventure Of Link even more, and now that I've beaten Zelda, I'm on to the sequel. (As teens, we owned Zelda 2 but only played the original with friends.) While I was trying to complete Zelda this time, I tried doing most of it on my own, without looking up where stuff was at, trying to do it more from memory and exploration, but there were a couple times when I referred to some tutorials. A friend also mentioned using the blue arrows for the battle with Ganon, which I had attempted several times before, but wasn't successful with before. I even broke out the graph paper to make my own map of the Level 9 dungeon because I wanted to map out the shortest path to Ganon after having multiple failed attempts. (It was also a bit reminiscent of when I was a teenager and I made a map of the overworld for Zelda 2.) I'm glad I finally did it, and a lot of the time I played it while I was walking on the treadmill! It was a great way to accomplish two things at the same time.
