3D Printer Projects
« on: May 25, 2020, 20:08:01 »
Although I don?t have a 3D printer yet, I hope to get one eventually. In the meantime, I thought it might be nice to put together a list of some printer projects that look cool. Feel free to add to this list.

PRINT-IN-PLACE SPRING LOADED BOX

Update I did eventually print this on my Davinci Mini W+, but it didn't get the detail that was needed. Later, on my Sidewinder X2, it was able to print out and work properly using the Super Quality settings. Unfortunately, after closing the box lid overnight, the spring broke.

"Hello IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again? ... OK, well, the button on the side. Is it glowing?... Yeah, you need to turn it on. Err, the button turns it on. Yeah, you do know how a button works, don't you? No, not on clothes." - Roy (The IT Crowd)

HeroScape Marro Drones: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4366551 (I have the game but one of the figures was lost. Plus, they have a neat ability that could work with another set of these guys.)
Dungeon Doors: https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-dungeon-doors-84321 (Maybe a cool replacement for the cardboard doors in the HeroQuest game.)

With projects underway, a larger spool holder is needed. Most that I've found don't fit on the smaller printer bed that I got, so this one looks like it might do the job: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:761893

I was looking for some cloud tokens to use a blocks for the Power Grid game. I came across this project which includes some cloud shaped lids that look pretty neat, so I've resized them to 40mm wide and I'm printing up some to see how they look just to mark the territories that aren't in use for a game.

Cloud Storage Box With Lid (2 styles) - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3243995

Here's another one that I was considering.
