I tried it today in a parking lot.
It seems fast to me but I don't think that is more than the 27km/h :-\
If my math is correct at 27km/h it should do 10 meters in 1.3sec.
But I believe that it takes longer than 1.3s for doing 10 meters.  ???

In the future I'll try to post some videos. But first I need to buy a new camera.

Your numbers look right:

27 (km per hour) = 7.5 meters per second.

Just a small update.
The rear tires of my Super Jet Hopper slip on the rims. I think that it is due to the fact that I removed them once. I believe that this causes some loss of speed.
Do you know of any way in which I could avoid this?

Thanks for any help.

Have you considered gluing the tires to the rims?

I was thinking about that. But then if I want to remove them I'm afraid that to ruin them.
I noticed this also with the other tycos. Once you remove them for the first time they get "loose".

So gluing is the option...

I'm sure the age of the wheel has some thing to do with it too.

If you do use glue, just give it a dot on the inside so you dont get glue all over the rim and face of the wheel, looks tacky when poeple get glue all over the face of the wheel.

Or you could put a rubber band between the rim and tire.

I'm going to give a try to the rubber band first.
Thanks

Let us know how it works out.

So, I went for the a rubber band around the rim. Now the tires do not spin around the rim.
thanks for all the input.

Would be nice to have around the user from the previous forum with username "Gamester".
He did some incredible projects with the small cars!

... Yes the motor you linked is the one I didn't want to tell you about ;)   It's  also sold  under the name GWS 350.   The motor is a current hog,  sucking 10-12 amps. You need a 100-150watt speed controller.  The brushes don't very long at 9.6V.  It's a bit faster than the 280BB motor I linked  above, but doesn't last nearly as long and is less efficient.

Know any thing about a "Rocket 400" 3-7.2vdc p/n 1086/1 ?

Speed 400 motors are too big to fit.

Basically you can put in a motor that has a diameter of 24 mm.
A 370/380 can should do.

Hi,
I uploaded a video of the Super Jet Hopper:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_dXWOOLmlo

Sorry for the quality...I'm not that familiar yet with video capture and processing.

Anyway, let me know what you think about the car speed.
