Rebound with 2.4 GHz
« on: January 17, 2013, 21:59:52 »
Decided to resurrect a forgotten rebound using 2.4GHz system with dual esc and a single 4.8 battery pack. I did not want to go brushless in this system because of the weak gears. With 4.8 volt power it is just as fast as the stock temperature in the motor,  very low. It is possible to upgrade to 6 volts but the drive train will be strained too much in my opinion, the whole point of this project was to keep it reliable and cheap.

There's a guy that runs a 7.4 lipo on his Rebound and huge sticky hobby rims/tires. The gears seem to hold up, but he reports that the motors get really hot though.

What ESC did you use? I'd like to try this one day with a skid steer Tyco.

ESC cheap from eBay $20 for both of them. There tyco's bro if you want speed get hobby grade car. At 4.8 is actually faster than a 6volt tyco, more torque.
